Our Mission: Anthony G. Kirsch

Anthony (Tony) G. Kirsch was a beloved son and father who lost his battle to alcohol-use disorder. Raised in the city of Sequim, tucked on the top of the Olympic Peninsula, he grew up with a profound love of Christ and carpentry. Later in his life, his love expanded to his cherished children, who also loved all of the light they saw in their father.

With a family history of alcohol-use disorder, along with the lack of research and awareness work surrounding alcohol-use in the ‘70s and ‘80s, his addiction started from a young age.

Tony had a sincere admiration for education and fostered it within his two sons, who have since pursued careers in healthcare and carpentry. This is what led us to create The Carpenter’s Sons Academic Fund with hope to award small scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Chimacum and Sequim high schools.

Our mission is to create a culture of knowledge and awareness surrounding alcohol- and substance-use disorders and foster its prevention in future generations. As we blossom, we hope to be a resource hub for the most current evidence-based information on these disorders, along with connections on the Olympic Peninsula for individuals to seek support for their family members.
